HOUSE STAFF In the daily routine of learning the fine arts of medicine, the student soon becomes aware that the majority of his daily acquisition of knowledge derives from the interns and residents. These noble caretakers of the ill, and downtrodden, commonly known as the (blank — blank) house staff, are responsible for the students as they blunder through the mistakes of learning the skills of everything from spinal taps to circumcisions. They too, are the suppliers of bits of know-how, referred to as "white pearls," and more than a few "black pearls" as well.
