Description | San Antonio physician, book collector, and medical historian Dr. P.I. Nixon was the sole author of three books devoted to Texas medicine and co-author of a fourth. He was founder of the San Antonio Historical Association and served terms as president of the Bexar County Medical Library Association, Texas Surgical Society, San Antonio Ex-Students Society of Texas, San Antonio Historical Association, and the Philosophical Society of Texas. This book is a narrative description of the Texas Medical Association over a period of one hundred years. Readers will follow the history of the Texas Medical Association and the small band of medical pioneers who contributed to the beginnings of organized medicine in Texas. |
